Privacy Policy

Last updated October 2026.

This policy explains what personal information Sacred Herbology collects through sacredherbology.com, why, and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

When you place an order or open an account, we collect your name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number if you give it, and the details of what you ordered. When you leave a comment, we collect the name and email you enter, your IP address and your browser’s user agent, which helps us filter spam.

We do not see or store your full card number. Card and PayPal payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal under their own privacy policies. Bank transfer orders only record the reference you use.

Why we collect it

We use your details to process and deliver orders, send order and delivery emails, answer your messages, keep the records the law requires us to keep for tax, and protect the site from fraud and spam. We will not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Who we share it with

Only the services that need it to do their job: our payment processors, the courier or Australia Post for delivery, our email provider for order emails, and our web host. Some of these services store data outside Australia.

Cookies

The site uses cookies to keep you signed in, remember your cart and complete checkout. These are needed for the shop to work.

Advertising

We show advertising on Journal pages to help fund our work. Ads are served by Google and its partners.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Google explains how it uses information from sites that show its ads at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as Australian tax law requires, currently five years. Comments stay up until they are removed. You can ask us to close your account at any time.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete what we are not required to keep. Email [email protected] and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Children

The shop is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
